Reflecting on the Fourth Meeting of the Phoenix Group in Italy

In October 2023, the fourth meeting organized by Gruppo Phoenix took place in Italy. This event, spearheaded by the project leader, was dedicated to reviewing workshops conducted by our partners from Aile in Turkey and Red Sanamente in Spain. The focus was on sharing our work strategies and participating in a paper mache sculpture workshop.

During the week, we also attended a public event celebrating World Mental Health Day and the presentation of the exhibition NEXUS – SIAMO HUMANI O ROBOT created and produced by Gruppo Phoenix.

Highlights of the Event

Workshops and Strategic Discussions

The sessions included:

  • Review of Workshops: Partners from Turkey and Spain presented their recent workshops, discussing methodologies, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Paper Mache Sculpture Workshop: Participants engaged in a hands-on workshop, exploring creative expression through the medium of paper mache.

Celebrating World Mental Health Day

Attending the World Mental Health Day event was a significant highlight. It was an opportunity to join the global conversation on mental health, share insights, and show solidarity with the cause.

NEXUS – SIAMO HUMANI O ROBOT Exhibition

The exhibition NEXUS – SIAMO HUMANI O ROBOT was a profound experience. Produced by Gruppo Phoenix, it explored the intersection of humanity and technology. The thought-provoking displays left a lasting impression on all attendees, prompting deep reflection on what it means to be human in a technologically advanced world. Kudos to Gruppo Phoenix for the excellent production and presentation of the exhibition, which was both visually and intellectually stimulating.

Contributions from Spanish Delegation

The Spanish delegation enriched the sessions with the presence and work of two artists, Sonia Medina and Sergio Marco. Both artists shared their personal artistic journeys, focusing on deeply emotional expressions rather than formal techniques. Their presentations provided valuable insights into the raw and heartfelt nature of artistic creation.

Cultural and Social Engagement

The event also included a cultural tour of exhibition spaces in the city of Bari, adding a layer of cultural appreciation to the meeting. This tour allowed participants to explore local art scenes and gain inspiration from diverse artistic expressions.

Gratitude and Acknowledgments

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Italian delegation for their warm hospitality, generosity, and excellent organization. The success of this meeting is a testament to the collaborative spirit and dedication of all involved.
